The "Diabetic Association of South Hertfordshire"
DASH is a voluntary group for families with
children affected by Type 1 Diabetes.
DASH stands for "Diabetic Association of South Hertfordshire". It's run by local people whose aim
is to provide such families opportunities to meet and share experiences
with each other, and also to
raise funds for a much desired cure. Our children range in age
from toddlers through to late teenagers. The regimes our families
use range from two injections per day through to pump therapy with
combined real-time sensors.
Throughout 2010 and into 2011, Sophie Washington (one of the children
in our group) had been actively raising funds through DASH to help the
hospitals that have looked after her. Sophie has
also scored top marks in her GCSE exams (taken a year early)
